The 7th race in The Chase, following the TUMS QuikPak 500, the Amp Energy 500 is one of four restrictor plate races in NASCAR. For the drivers that means reduced speed. Jamie McMurray won the AMP Energy 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, beating Kasey Kahne to the checkered flag. Joey Logano, Greg Biffle and Jeff Burton round out the top 5 in the running order. Jamie McMurray pushed the #26 Ford to an average speed of 157.213 mph and led 32 of the race's 191 laps, taking home $229,275. The race ran 3:13:54 and saw 58 lead changes.
