The AMP Energy 500 is the 34th race of the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Season and the sixth race in the 2009 Chase for the Cup. Watch complete TV clinksage on ABC beginning at 1PM ET on Sunday Nlinksmber 1, 2009.

The Amp Energy 500 is the new name for the race formerly known as the UAW Ford 500, a key race in The Chase for the Sprint Cup. The 7th race in The Chase, following the TUMS QuikPak 500, the Amp Energy 500 is one of four restrictor plate races in NASCAR. For the drivers that means reduced speed. It also means pure machinery won’t deliver a win. The Amp Energy 500 calls for every bit of skill and strategy available to catch the checkered flag or even finish in the top five.

One thing for sure about the racing at Talladega Superspeedway, you're not sure of anything. Especially calling a winner at any point before they cross the finish line. Just because your man is leading out of turn four, doesn't automatically mean a trip to victory lane. They can be four and five wide out of four and then must quickly maneuver back into two lanes entering the trioval. Three wide into the trioval and trouble can't be far behind.

AMP Energy 500 Weekend at Talladega Superspeedway will be featuring NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series qualifying on Fri., Oct. 30, Mountain Dew 250 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race and NASCAR Sprint Cup qualifying on Sat., Oct. 31 and AMP Energy 500, race seven in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup on Sun., Nov. 1.

Jamie McMurray won the AMP Energy 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, beating Kasey Kahne to the checkered flag. Joey Logano, Greg Biffle and Jeff Burton round out the top 5 in the running order. Jamie McMurray pushed the #26 Ford to an average speed of 157.213 mph and led 32 of the race's 191 laps, taking home $229,275. The race ran 3:13:54 and saw 58 lead changes. Due to 6 yellow flags, the race spent 23 laps under caution, including the last lap.
