Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 Michigan International Speedway June 19th, 2011

The Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips 400 is part of the Nascar Sprint Cup Series stock races. it will be held on Father's Day June 19th, 2011 at the Michigan International Speedway, there is another Nascar Sprint Cup Series race that will be held at this venue in the fall.

The first race started in 1969, as the Motor State 500, after this it had many names and sponsors. One of the longest sponsorships was with Miller Brewing Company had the longest sporsorship from 1994-1998. With the current sponsor it started only 2 years ago, before this one it was LifeLock that started with a 3 year contract but pulled out after 2 years.

The construction of the Michigan International Speedway began on September 28, 1967, the D-shaped oval was designed by Charles Moneypenny, he also designed the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway. Lawrence H. LoPatin, Roger Penske in 1973 owned the track and made several improvement since it was opened. Today the venue is owned by International Speedway Corp. ISC, they have purchased at least a docen more tracks around the country, among those is the Daytona International Speedway. This Corp. was founded and owned by Bill France who also founded NASCAR.
