NASCAR’s Semi-Final Showdown returns to PIR on Sunday, November 15 with the Chase for the Sprint Cup and the Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup series visits Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday for the second time this year. The Track will host the Checker O'Reilly Auto Parts 500.

Jimmie Johnson picked up an important win on Sunday, as he took home the checker flag in the 2009 Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Raceway, beating Jeff Burton to the checkered flag by 1.03 seconds. Denny Hamlin, Mark Martin and Martin Truex Jr. round out the top 5 in the running order. The race ran 2:49:26 and saw 9 lead changes. Due to 4 yellow flags, the race spent 23 laps under caution.
