The highly anticipated super mega matchup between the top welterweight champion Miguel Cotto and the No. 1 pound-for-pound champion in the world.

After successfully defending his WBO Welterweight belt against Joshua Clottey, the Puerto Rican fighter Miguel Cotto next fight is against the Filipino superstar, Manny Pacquiao.

Manny Pacquiao is an aggressive darter that uses his agility to move in and out to fire off lighting fast combinations with power. The southpaw Pacquiao has also been called out of having a suspect chin, he has been KO’d twice early in his up and comming career.

Both camp of Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto agreed to fight on 145 pounds, two below the welterweight limit and five above the light-welterweight category maximum weight limit. Pacquiao fought Oscar De La Hoya at the welterweight limit (147 pounds) in December, but he returned to junior-welterweight (140) to crush Ricky Hatton in a second-round knockout last month. By fight time it's possible Cotto would hold something like a ten pound weight advantage links the southpaw. When it comes to speed, both guys are very fast punchers. Power? The edge has to go to Pacquiao.

The Pacquiao vs. Cotto match is scheduled on November 14, 2009 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Nevada and can be watched also on HBO Pay per View.

Manny Pacquiao won the WBO Welterweight Championship belt. He defeated Miguel Cotto via TKO in the final round as the referee stopped the fight 55 seconds into the 12th round. Pacquiao said in an interview that he’s planning to knock him out on Round 12. Pacquiao, now has won his seventh title in seven different weight classes. Manny Pacquiao now moves to 50 - 3 - 2 with 38 KO's and Miguel Cotto drops to 34 - 2 with 27 KO's.
