Every January, of the world’s top professional golfers participate in the Hawaii Open golf tournament. Also known as the Sony Open, the tournament is presently the second event on the prestigious PGA Tour schedule and is part of the Tour’s FedEx Cup series. This year it will be played from Jan. 9th to the 15th, 2012.
The PGA Tour's Sony Open in Hawaii is one of the prestigious few tournaments on the PGA Tour, and this famed competition is the year's biggest event at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu. A staple on the PGA Tour since 1965, the Sony Open in Hawaii is one of the most-watched golf tournaments of the year.
The world-wide media coverage of the Sony Open is amazing, reaching over 450 million homes in some 200 countries via numerous national and international broadcast networks, and contributing an estimated $100 million in marketing and economic revenues to Hawaii. In 2007 the event debuted live coverage to China, and India and with other telecasts to cover 150 other countries around the world the Sony Open is now one of the most internationally-televised golf tournaments in the world.

2009 Results
Zach Johnson closed with a 65, finishing at 15-under 265 and two strokes ahead of Adam Scott and David Toms. Johnson posted rounds of 69-65-66-65. Tadd Fujikawa made a splash, making the cut after Monday qualifying, then shooting 62 in the third round. He faded in the final round, however.
