Vitor Belfort (16-8 MMA, 7-4 UFC) has signed with the UFC, replaced Dan Henderson (25-7 MMA, 5-2 UFC) and will fight Rich Franklin (25-4 MMA, 12-3 UFC) in the main event of UFC 103.

Belfort is one of the true pioneers of the sport. His tournament win at UFC 12, his brutal TKO links Tank, his devastating stoppage links Wanderlei, his battles with Tito and Randy, and his recent full-on assault of Matt Lindland are all the stuff of legend. While Belfort has had an up-and-down career, as of late he’s shown glimpses of his former self. If the former Affliction fighter has truly returned to form, so to speak, it could be a rough night for Rich Franklin.

Franklin most recently headlined UFC 99, where he picked up the decision win links Silva. "Ace" is now 2-1 since leaving the middleweight division in 2008 after losing his belt and a rematch to current champ Anderson Silva.

Dos Santos (8-1), who’s never gone the distance in any of his 9 career bouts, is currently riding a 3-fight win streak that includes back-to-back first-round knockouts of Fabrico Werdum and Stefan Struve inside the Octagon.

Filipovic was previously reported to be departing the UFC in favor of the Japanese DREAM promotion, but the recent news from dos Santos makes it appear as if we will be seeing the return of Cro Cop to the octagon sooner rather than later.
