A light heavyweight match-up between five-time UFC champion Randy Couture and Brandon Vera is targeted for UFC 105. The fight is expected to take place at light heavyweight (205 lbs.) and Couture will be looking to rebound after his unanimous decision loss to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira 102 “Couture vs Nogueira”. Vera is a talented fighter, but he's not in the same league as the kinds of opponents Couture has usually fought in his MMA career.

Vera also fought on the UFC 102 card, defeating Krzystzof Soszynski by unanimous decision. While Vera took the win in Portland, he once again proved his unwillingness to engage his opponents by staying back doing just enough to get the win.

In other featured bouts, the UK will be well-represented with Michael Bisping (18-2) looking to bounce back from his UFC 100 loss and Dan Hardy (22-6) aiming to position himself closer to the welterweight title in a fight against top contender Mike Swick (14-2).

Hardy is coming off perhaps the biggest win of his career, with a razor thin split decision links Marcus Davis at UFC 99: “The Comeback” in June 2009. It was a super close call and one that had most mixed martial arts fans divided right down the middle.

Nonetheless, it was the third straight win for “The Outlaw” inside the Octagon and his sixth since a disqualification loss to Yoshiyuki Yoshida in late 2007. In fact, Hardy has won 11 of his last 12 fights, including a devastating first round knockout of Rory Markham and a split decision win links the venerable veteran Akihiro Gono.

Dong Hyun “Stun Gun” Kim (12-0-1) has put together Octagon victories links Jason Tan and Matt Brown before suffering a split decision loss to Karo Parisyan. A defeat that was then changed to a no contest after Parisyan tested positive for banned painkillers.
