We’re all the way up to Week 7 in College Football. My expert picks start on Friday the 13, Jason’s favorite day, when Washington State battles California. Who wins in an intriguing Pac 12 North matchup? On Saturday, Michigan travels to Indiana. Can the Wolverines bounce back from a stunning loss to Michigan State? The final game I like has UCF hosting East Carolina. Will Central Florida cover a massive spread as a home favorite against the East Carolina Pirates?

#8 Washington State at California
When: Friday, Oct. 13 at 10:30 pm ET
Where: Memorial Stadium, Berkeley, CA
Odds: Washington State -15
Analysis: Washington State averages an incredible 39.7 points per game. The Cougars don’t have a slouch of a defense, though. Opponents average 18.5 points per game versus the Cougars’ D.
Does California have any shot? Doubtful. The Golden Bears are a terrible 1 and 5 ATS in their last 6 home games versus a team with a winning record. Cal is also 1 and 7 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Berkeley.
It sure looks like Washington State wins their seventh straight game on Friday night. It also looks like the Cougars cover the spread.
Pick: Washington State -15
#17 Michigan at Indiana
When: Saturday, Oct. 14 at 12:00 pm ET
Where: Memorial Stadium, Bloomington, Indiana
Odds: Michigan -6.5
Analysis: The Wolverines’ loss to unranked Michigan State all but ended their shot at the College Football Playoff. Michigan State wasn’t having a great season until they beat rival Michigan in the Big House.
Can the Wolverines bounce back? There’s no reason to believe they won’t.
The trends are consistent with Michigan covering the close to -7 spread. The Wolverines are 6 and 1 against the spread in their last 7 games versus a team with a winning home record. Michigan is also 4 and 1 ATS in their last 5 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous game.
Coach Harbaugh figures to rip into his players this week. I think Michigan rolls.
Pick: Michigan -6.5
East Carolina at #22 UCF
When: Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: Spectrum Stadium, Orlando, FL
TV: CBS Sports Network
Analysis: The Central Florida Knights are undefeated this season. They’ve emerged as one of the best non-Big 5 Conference teams in the country. UCF should have no trouble putting a beat down on the East Carolina Pirates.
The question will be, by how much? I believe UCF beats East Carolina by at least 30 points. That’s how bad of a football team East Carolina is. Not only that, but East Carolina is 5 and 22 ATS in their last 27 non-conference games.
Pick: UCF -28.5
