My NFL Week 14 Upset Picks start in New York when the Giants host the Dallas Cowboys. Why do I believe the Giants have a shot against the spread?
I also like the Rams’ chances straight up against the Philadelphia Eagles as a 2.5 home dog. Can the Rams upset Philly?
The final game of my Week 14 upset picks list is between Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Why do I believe the Ravens can keep it closer than the spread?
NFL Week 14 Upset Picks
Dallas at New York Giants
When: Sunday, Dec. 10 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
Odds: New York Giants +6.5
Analysis: The Dallas Cowboys travel to New York to face off against the Giants. The Giants continued one of the worst seasons in their franchise’s history when losing 17 to 24 to the Oakland Raiders.
The Raiders were a team that the Giants could beat. The Dallas Cowboys are most definitely not, right? I don’t know. Rumor has it that the New York Giants are going to fire head coach Bob McAdoo before Sunday’s game versus the Boys.
If that happens, Eli figures to get the start. With Eli under center, the Giants should battle Dallas as hard as they usually do. I’m taking the 6.5 points.
Pick: New York Giants
Philadelphia at L.A. Rams
When: Sunday, Dec. 10 at 4:25 pm ET
Where: L.A. Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles, CA
Odds: L.A. Rams +2.5
Analysis: The Philadelphia Eagles are a very good football team. I’m still not sure they’re a great team. The problem that the Eagles should have versus the Rams is two-fold.
First, the Rams’ defense has become much, much better than it was earlier in the season. Holding the New Orleans Saints to only 20 points in Week 11, means that the D is playing tough. Second, the Rams can both run and pass against almost any defense in the NFL.
Philadelphia’s defense is very good. The Eagles are good at doing almost everything on defense. They must be better than good to keep the Rams from moving the football.
I don’t see it. I’m backing the Rams versus the Eagles on Sunday.
Pick: L.A. Rams
Baltimore at Pittsburgh
When: Sunday, Dec. 10 at 8:30 pm ET
Where: Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, CA
Odds: Baltimore +6.5
Analysis: I must admit. I was wrong about the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens’ defense and offense have gelled. Baltimore was terrific in their 44 to 20 win over the Detroit Lions. The Lions are a good football team.
Baltimore handled the Lions with ease. Could Baltimore upset Pittsburgh on the money line this Sunday? I believe they could. Taking the points is a no-brainer because Pitt is only 6 and 5 ATS over all. The Steelers are only 3 and 2 ATS at home.
The Ravens are hot. Take advantage is what I say.
