NFL Week 2 betting odds are out and so are my parlay picks.

First, a two-teamer starts with Jacksonville and Kansas City. Can the Jags prove that their defensive effort against Houston in Week 1 was no fluke versus the tough Tennessee Titans?

KC bombarded New England in Week 1. Will the Chiefs do the same thing to Philly in Week 2 at Arrowhead Stadium?

A couple of teams with bad showings in the first week, Arizona and Indianapolis, butt heads in Indy on Sep. 17. Who’s got the edge against the NFL Week 2 betting spread?

3-Team Parlay NFL Week 2

  • Jacksonville +1
  • Kansas City -4

Tennessee at Jacksonville
When:  Sunday, Sep. 17 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: EverBank Field, Jacksonville, FL
Odds: Jacksonville +1

Analysis: I thought Tennessee’s defense had improved. Not so. The Oakland Raiders pounded Tennessee for 109 rushing yards and 250 passing yards. Oakland beat the Titans 26 to 16.

Tennessee’s inability to score more than 16 points versus the Raiders’ D doesn’t bode well for the Titans going into Week 2. Marcus Mariota and company face the best defense I saw in Week 1.

Jacksonville pummeled Houston’s offense. The Jaguars recorded 10 sacks. They recovered 3 Houston fumbles. The Jags held Houston’s offense to 93 rushing yards and 110 passing yards.

Although Jags’ QB Blake Bortles wasn’t great, he only completed 11 of 21 passes for 125 yards and a TD, Bortles didn’t throw a pick. To me, that’s as if he completed every pass he threw.

The Jaguars game plan worked to perfection. Leonard Fournette rushed for 110 yards and a TD from 26 carries. Man, the Jaguars looked good!

I think they punch Tennessee in the mouth.

Pick: Jacksonville +1

Philadelphia at Kansas City
When:  Sunday, Sept. 17 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO
Odds: Kansas City -4

Analysis: Philadelphia dominated Washington. Did that have as much to do with Washington’s players looking like they just learned how to play football as it did with Philadelphia being better than Washington?

I think so. Philly hung 30 on Washington. There’s a caveat to that. First, Washington lost 3 fumbles. Second, QB Kirk Cousins, who is fighting for an all you can get salary, threw a pick. Without the 4 turnovers, the game figures to have been much closer. The other reason to love KC is because Philadelphia only rushed for 58 yards versus Washington’s D.

Kansas City’s offense hung 42 onto New England. WR Tyreek Hill should be okay to play. Since Philly can’t stop TE Travis Kelce, Hill, and RB Kareem Hunt, you must figure that KC -4 is one of the best bets in Week 2.

Pick: Kansas City -4

3-Team Parlay NFL Week 2

  • Jacksonville +1
  • Kansas City -4
  • Arizona -7.5

Arizona at Indianapolis
When:  Sunday, Sept. 17 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN
Odds: Arizona -7.5

Analysis: Arizona had all sorts of issues versus Detroit in the Cardinals 23 to 35 Week 1 loss to the Lions. The biggest issue is that RB David Johnson left the game after the third quarter due to a wrist injury.

There’s no word if DJ is healthy enough to play on Sunday. Even if he isn’t, I think AZ beats Indianapolis by at least 10 points. As bad as Arizona looked in Week 1, the Colts looked 3 times worse.

The L.A. Rams pummeled Indy 46 to 9. The worst part about the loss is that the Colts held Todd Gurley to 40 yards rushing and only 1 TD. What it means is that the Rams’ passing game obliterated the Colts’ defense.

It was embarrassing. So what if QB Andrew Luck returns? The Colts offensive line can’t protect him. Not only that, but Luck doesn’t play defense.

The Cardinals roll.

Pick: Arizona -7.5
